Art Integration

This blog is made for members of group B in EDM 510 to contribute to and to practice using blogs in education.

Hi! My name is Ashleigh Evans. I am a big proponent for art integration in the classroom. I believe that from an early age children should be encouraged to creatively think and to not be afraid to be an individual. I did a lot of reading for a research proposal in another class and the impacts of art integration on reading achievement specifically were significant, especially for ELL students. In this blog, I have posted my favorite TED talk by Sir Ken Robinson who also believes that schools should be a place for students to creatively thrive in. The video is about twenty minutes long, so you do not have to watch it (although it is hilarious and very entertaining as well as enlightening) but I would like you to comment on your thoughts about art integration and some lessons in which you have taught through art and the results were inspiring.
